Hey All!
I was going to just wing it but I'd rather do it right the first time. :)
I have an event that has already been on sale for a little while. The promoter would now like to offer a very limited number of specific seats at a higher price that would include a post-reception.
This is my first event in Tessitura with special pricing so I did a little bit of research to see if I can figure out the best way to do this.
My thought is to:
- Add a new price map that has the higher price.
- Associate that price map to a "Reception" price type.
- Associate the Reception price type to a special MOS.
- Set up allocated seats that are only accessible by that special MOS.
All of that sounds easy enough and seems like it would work. However, when I built it in TEST to try it out it didn't work the way I thought it would. The special tickets weren't limited to the allocated seats. So a box office rep could go into the seat map and select any of the seats that are still available.
Is there a way to restrict this special offer only to these limited seats? Is it likely that I have set up the allocation wrong? Is it not possible to restrict it to the allocated seats specifically? Is there a much better way to do this whole thing?!?
I'd super appreciate any suggestions or feedback from the more experienced Tess users.
Thanks in advance!
Wow I love this forum! Everyone is so fast and helpful. :)
The problem was that in the special MOS they would be able to sell the 'Reception' price type anywhere in the facility.
Amanda, you hit it right on the mark. I had the Unassigned seats applying as well as my allocation code. I've removed the Unassigned seats from my special MOS and it works exactly how I was hoping it would.
I don't have any other events set up using that MOS yet. So I will definitely have to keep that in mind when I use it in the future. Thanks for pointing it out, Ryan! I definitely wouldn't have thought of that on my own.
