We don't offer resales until all our own seats are sold, when we do resell a seat the original customer has to be refunded immediately, its a very manual process and we are looking to streamline it
How are other venues processing resales?

Hey Donna,
I have never found a straight forward approach. We generally return the tickets on the system and then hold the money either on account or in an editable fee. Once they are sold we reverse the money onto the Credit Card or refund to Cheque.
