We have created a report to print our gift certicates via a report rather than ticket stock this way we can provide our patrons with a neatrly formatted report. I was wondering if anybody has done this and if so what laser printer and paper stock have you used.
Thanks
Bob
Bob -
We actually have do both - print our GCs on card stock through a laser as well as a plastic gift card (for different marketing program). For our GCs on stock, we just use a regular laser printer and the box office prints on stiff card stock. Over the years we've had pre-printed stock as well as reports created completely from Infomaker. For fancy stuff we've found pre-printing things like logos etc work nicely and allow different colors on our GCs. If you print a LOT of gift certificates daily, the only consideration would be speed of the printer and perhaps how much paper it can hold. If you want glossy paper, make sure you get some test stock to print on as we've found that laser printers don't fuse well on glossy paper.
For the plastic cards we have a specialized printer that can print bar codes created from GC numbers we save out of Tessitura to an excel document.
Good luck with your exploration!
