Gift Certificates

We have created a report to print our gift certicates via a report rather than ticket stock this way we can provide our patrons with a neatrly formatted report.  I was wondering if anybody has done this and if so what laser printer and paper stock have you used.

Thanks

  • Just as a different way of thinking about it - we print our gift certificates on a plastic gift card.

We created a local table that stores name, order number, gc number, date, and value and is updated via a report.

Then, using an application called Badgemaker, I am able to make an ODBC connection to Tessitura and reference the local table. The data elements are placed on the card design and the gc number is printed as a bar-code. When scanned, the gc number is entered into the payment screen. It's a very nice process, a little more expensive than going with a paper certificate but it lends that 'gift card' feel to the offering.

    Good luck either way!
