Group Sales via Box Office

I was wondering if anyone sales all types of group sales via the box office and not a special group sales number or individual person.  How does this work?  Are there any issues with consistency?  Any hints are appreciated.

Thanks,

  • we issue all group tickets from a special hotline with a dedicated team of two. We issue all tickets with different price types for different discounts dependant on the size of the group. We then ask our agents to add a groups const. However if they forget it isn't a problem because we have a script that runs daily to do this job for them.

  • Paul- When a patron calls the box office, do you refer them to the group line or can the box office take care of their order?

    Thanks,

    Janna

  • It depends. Since we cross train some agents to sub on Groups they may just handle the call themselves and make them aware they should call groups directly in future. If it is really busy on our general lines they will immediatly transfer them over to groups to take another general call. There is a lot of crossover between the two departments and I think there needs to give the patron the best service possible even if they call the wrong number.
