Fixed + flex package in one

While setting up subscriptions for next season, I have a question about a non-conventional package my organization wants:

The package will contain 4 performances total, with fixed seat renewal for the first 2 events, but an option to choose between multiple performances for the next 2.

(performances 1, 2, 3A or 3B, 4A or 4B)

I know that this can be easily achieved with a flex package, but I don't want to compromise the rollover for future seasons.

I have researched using a "super package", but have not found a way to allow for a partial flex.

My thinking is that I will make a fixed package for the first 2 performances in order to complete the rollover (both this season and next) and then manually add a flex package to each order to round out all 4 performances.

(But, I do not know how this will work once we are accepting new subscriptions online...perhaps a different flex package??)

Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

    Hi Elizabeth,

We have a program called "TradeOne," which allows subscribers to drop 1
opera from their fixed package and replace it with another opera that
they're missing. We set the Minimum Perfs for the fixed pkg to one less
the total number of performances, and then with Pkg Details open in the
order we manually delete the opera they want to drop. We then add a
one-performance fixed pkg for the perf they want into; these pkgs have a
unique pkg type so we can report on them separately. Rollovers for the
    next season work just fine.

Unfortunately the setup falls into the
works-in-the-client-but-not-with-the-web-API category, since the web can't
delete one perf from a fixed pkg. What happens online is a CSI is created
that tells us what opera the patron dropped. The new opera they want is
already in their order, but with a comp price type that we then change so
the cost of the subscription works out.

Let me know if you'd like more details - there are many.

    Thanks,
    Mary
