We are working towards the March 15, 2011 compliance deadline for the Department of Justice's new regulations for Title II and Title III of the ADA- specific to selling accessible seating via the Web.
We have considered using price zones, pricetypes or seat types in Tessituyra to call out the accessible seating through the Web API for patrons purchasing on the web.
Any recomendations?
Thank you-Lisa
We (Center Theatre Group) have JUST gone on line with Wheelchair reservations on line in our Mark Taper Forum. The current show running in their is Stories By Heart if you care to take a look. we put the locations in as a seat type so the patron can hover over that seat and see the description of what it is since we have many different types of w/c seating. We also had our web vendor put a w/c icon on those locations.
Since the seating needed to be availble for all discounts, promotions and performances we opted to have these seats open as available to everyone with a few w/c seats on protection.
We have three theatres of varying sizes... so we figured the safest thing to do was open w/c seating on ONE theatre first... see how it goes with ticket sales and house management, tweak when necessary, then move on to the next theatre... rinse... repeat.
