Gen Sal Button

Hi ,

I was wondering about the gen sal button ....

I hope most of you have come across this ,if we have a female in N1 its generating as Mrs&Mr x.

I want this to change ,do anyone of you try this..

suggestion would be appreciated..

    The reference here is to TR_SALUTATION_FORMAT, where the different combinations of name fields can be defined in sets of salutation rules for specific purposes. For situations like the one originally described (female name in N1, male name in N2), you could create a salutation that addresses that, and select it from the right-click drop-down menu.

    Not sure what tables are referenced, but we can right click on the Gen Sal Button and choose from a dropdown menu, that includes "N2 First Formal."

    The table where you set up salutation formats is TR_SALUTATION_FORMAT.

     

    Revath, I think the solution you need is to create a new salutation format in TR_SALUTATION_FORMAT for the situation of female N1 male N2 and then manually select that format by right clicking on the Gen Sal button like Sadie suggests.  Unfortunately you can’t set a salutation type to be selected automatically based on the gender of a name.
