Accepting Paypal

Hi Tix-Tessies

It has been suggested that we should start accepting Paypal on our website.

We've had a brief look at costs and practicalities, but we're  wondering whether anybody out there in Tess-world has experience to offer on integrating Paypal into Tess as (presumably) a payment method.

If you have -

Was it a pleasant experience?

Given that a Paypal payment is actually a proxy for whichever credit card the customer has linked to their account, is it difficult/confusing to reconcile between Paypal and non-Paypal credit card charges?

Have your customers actually used it? (in enough numbers to justify the extra costs, which seem quite high to us)

Is there a demand out there?  -

Are people starting to expect that they will be able to pay via Paypal, so it becomes a customer service issue not to have it?

...etc.....

TIA

Ken

  • Hi Ken

Look forward to meeting you at some stage soon-ish. I've almost finished my 5th week here...

I agree with your statetment about the costs.  I'd previously done some research in our market which suggested there was minimal demand for PayPal as a payment method, but I think it's largely dependent on the event's demographic.

Having said that, I know Moshtix are in the middle of a great promotion with PayPal where they're rebating $30 on orders of more than $100.  Apparently they're eager to push forward into new markets.

    cheers

  • Hi there,

Tacking on to an ancient thread here to ask if anyone has implemented Paypal on their sites, and if so, what the customer take up has been like?

    Thanks,
