Barcode Placement

Hey All!

We going to be implementing access control this summer, and I was hoping that you all might be able to give me a hand.

I am debating the actual physical placement of the barcode (and how many...2 have been reccomended).

Would anyone be willing to share their ticket designs with me (an actual "shot" of the ticket). I would love to see what others are doing. We will be using a standard Boca Thermal ticket. I am shooting to have as clean a design as possible.

Feel free to email them to me at tess-coord@mtc.mb.ca

Thanks

Jen Skelly

We place one barcode all the way to the right (which is the stub end of the ticket) and another at the bottom.  You will also want to include the "Ticket No" data field in numeric form on the stub end of the ticket.  This way you can key in the ticket number or tear stubs as a back up.

The next item to think about is any greyscale you may use around the barcode area.  Barcodes will misread if you have too much black ink around the barcode.  We definately push the limits with our proximity of text and the pigment on the stock itself around the barcode.

I'll send you a sample of our ticket in just a moment.
