Subscription Optional Shows in a Fixed Package Online?

When working with subscriptions, has anyone found a way to have an optional show available to remove from a fixed package online? Our leaderships is adamant that we find a solution so I wanted to ask if anyone has had success with this. Thank you!

  • Lindsey,

I'm not aware of a way to remove a show within a fixed package online with TNEW. But I would be curious to know if that is a thing.

I know in the Tessitura application itself you can. In your fixed season package, you can treat it as a peel-off. You can adjust the number of shows in your season package. So, if you have 4 shows make your min 3 leave max perfs blank.

When you are in are in their season order. On the Line items tab, at the bottom left there is a box call Pkg Details. Check the box and it will display all your shows within your fixed package.

Next, find the show you want to remove, highlight it, then click the delete button on the bottom of your screen. Then a message will pop up to confirm you want to remove that show, click ok. Then proceed with your normal subscription process.

  • I am not aware of how you would remove it from a fixed package. What we do when we have an optional show add-on with a package (such as a fixed 6 show Broadway package with an add-on of Lion King, say), we rollover the package and the add-on Lion King performance into the same order. That allows the guest to choose to remove the add-on show from their cart online at the shopping cart, or on the back end a user can delete the line item from the order screen.

We just use a lot of messaging to indicate to people that they have the option to remove the show at the cart if they don't want to purchase it.

If reporting is an issue, hopefully the price types used in the optional show have similar pricing for you to use to track subscriptions with it etc.

  • To follow up on our phone call so it can be recorded here, we rolled over our Fixed package into an order, and then rolled over the optional show in the same order as a separate rollover item making sure that we had the right Add to Orders Created After date right. We in theory could have also set up separate target lists for both the Fixed package and the optional show, and maybe we will try that way this year.

Doing it this way had the optional show as a separate, removable item both in the shopping cart online (we are on TNEW) as well as in the back end. And since you were going to have new subscribers not have that option for it being removable, you'll need to build new packages that have it included, tied to a mode of sale that's not the same as the renewing one so both packages don't appear. I think this covers most of what we talked about.

  • We do this in Pittsburgh as well but we have a custom site. Cool to know it also works the same on TNEW!
