We will be doing 3 Charity performances in January for which each ticket will cost $1000. I have already set up a new MOS and Price Types to allocate monies to the correct GL Codes.
The twist is that the Devo group, who will be handling the sales, want the seat map pages for these 3 performances display two duplicate house maps, which they refer to as the "real" house and the "fake" house. When a ticket is sold, tickets are not printed, but seats are assigned to the order. The seats that are assigned to the order are locked in the the "fake" house. The ultimate result, assuming a sellout, is that all the seats in the "fake" house will be locked with the usual hold codes.
Then, on the day of the performance, the Devo director wants to access the seat maps, and move people out of the fake house into different seats in the real house by right clicking on the seat in the fake house and then dropping it into other seats in the real house that he deems are appropriate for the constituent listed in the order. After the seats are moved into the real house, the tickets are printed and placed in will call.
I don't know how to set this up. I have a feeling this may be a TASK ticket, but I wanted to run it by you folks first.
Thanks in advance for your advice.
Jeff

You can, in fact, build 2 different performances for each event – one, the “fake” one, for example, you can build either in a Flex facility (so a different facility altogether than your “real” performance), or just build it with a different performance code and/or name so that the Devo folks know which is which. As people buy tickets, they’re seated in one of the 3 dummy performances, and then day-of your Devo folks can move them into the real performance and assign seats. This is easily accomplished, and we do this all the time for certain subscription performances that take place in a different venue, different seating configuration, etc. I don’t know if you’re selling these tickets online or not – if you are, you’d just have to be conscious of what patrons see online as far as seating and/or zone goes. If the only people looking at the dummy performances are your Devo folks, then that doesn’t really matter so much (as long as they know which is the dummy and which is the real performance). If you want further information on this, let me know! I’m happy to talk further.
