My organization started using Price Zones as a way of creating caps on certain ticket types within the same performance. Example: our Art Start class has a Student price zone set at 20 seats and an Adult price zone set at 30 seats.
Because that class currently only has 1 QuickSale button, when my Front Desk team is on the phone with a parent whose asking if the class is sold out, they see the availability of both zones combined. For example, if we sell out in the student zone, but still have 10 Adult zone seats left, they will see the 10 on the QuickSale button for availability and assume its not sold out and then tell the parents to come.
To avoid this, they asked me to build a second button to separate out the two zones. I am trying to do that, but the only zone options in the button configuration drop-down are: Best Available, Prompt, Perf Day or Order Day. None of those do what I need.
Is there a way to do what I'm asking Tessitura to do?
EDIT: So I figured out I can do a Specific Zone on a Standalone Performance. The problem is all of the ones I need the specific zones on are all Performance Relative (because we run them once a week). Any ideas?
Perhaps this might work for you. The example below is set-up to show each zone for relative performance dates; we use them for timed entry.
Sample for Today's relative date:
First Zone setup for day:
Second Zone setup for same day as above:
Ok, I just tried to build an example in TEST and I can't get the buttons to pop up. The performance and zones were built correctly because I can sell it correctly in Order Details.
I followed your example to a T and it still didn't work. The buttons will not appear on the QuickSale screen, so I don't know what I did wrong.
Are the performances dated for today? The setup is keyed for day of. The other issue might be the zone setup in the facility. We had to put in an end time for the zone to make it work, I think. I also have a vague memory of scan start and end time being used instead if needed but I can't quite remember. If things still don't work for you, I'll try to dig up any notes I might have about the setup.
In addition to Neda's suggestions, if the performance is on a future date, you can change the setting on the MOS to allow you to edit the Order Date. This will allow you to change the Order Date on the order to match the future performance date so you can test the Performance Relative buttons.
Yup. I built it fresh with today's date on everything (MOS, Perf Date, Ticket date/times).
If I need an end time on the zone, can I make the 2 zones exactly the same start/end time? This isn't a timed admission but rather different ticket types that need to be sold at the same time.
Also, we just switched to v16. Could that have something to do with it?
You can set the same end time. v16 shouldn't impact but we're still on v15 and can't know for sure.
And the Time is what I was missing! Works perfectly now. Thank you so much for the help!
Awesome! So glad it worked out.
