Yondr and mobile tickets

Hi! I'm Diana with the Long Center in Austin, Texas. We had Hasan Minhaj here a couple of years ago and he is coming back soon to our venue that is roughly 2,400 seats. The last time he was here, we sold out 2 shows. He uses Yondr pouches to lock up audience members' cell phones, which makes it difficult for audience members to see and remember their seat locations. I think it's important to note that over 90% of our tickets are mobile tickets. Yondr had staff that would write down seat locations on Post-It notes, but sometime the full section name or row or seat numbers were missing, so it made it difficult for our Guest Services staff to seat patrons in a timely manner.

We discussed only offering will call and standard mail as delivery options for those shows, but we don't want to have long will call lines, so we're searching for other solutions.

I did read about the Arsht Center in Miami using HTML Templates to trigger a chit to print from a Zebra ZQ320 printer with seat locations for Hassan Minhaj shows. Great idea! We're wondering if there are other solutions that other venues have implemented in this situation with Yondr or companies like Yondr. Any and all ideas are welcome!

Thank you!

Diana

  • Diana,

We just had Hasan this summer. Sold out 4 shows, but our venue is 300+ seats, so maybe 1200 tickets total. Yonder did lock up the phones, But the patron kept their phones on their person, although they couldn't access it , but Yonder staff managed the whole process and did not run into any issue.

We did delayed Mobile Delivery. I had printing unchecked and set the price to dynamically ship to Mobile only. I want to say we could not do hard tickets due to the contract, but dont quote me. We prepped for these 4 performances, and really had no issues. It ran seamlessly.
