We're looking to expire on account credit after a year and we're wondering what do to with the existing on account credit we have.
At the time of issue, customers weren't given an expiry time so we were wondering if it was even possible to give these credit holders say a year from now to use it.
Does anyone have experience doing this?
Hi! You should also check with your state/region/country regarding any laws around gift cards and "free money" such as this :-)
Good advice. Here in MN, as far as I know things like GCs are "forever".
3rded. For the first few years we put on our GCs that they were valid for 18 months until someone looked into it and discovered that legally we were required to keep them valid for a minimum of 5 years (which is what we are using now). I mean, sure, no one ever challenged us on it when we said 18 months, but definitely something to double check.
