Hiya,
We're looking to expire on account credit after a year and we're wondering what do to with the existing on account credit we have.
At the time of issue, customers weren't given an expiry time so we were wondering if it was even possible to give these credit holders say a year from now to use it.
Does anyone have experience doing this?
Hi Aurelia,
Our standard policy is that our credit expires at the end of the performance season, after which we turn all credit on account into a donation. You can also convert it to gift certificates or issue a refund. As far as I know, there isn't a way to move it to another on account method (without doing it manually).
I think it might be easier to give all your customers the same set date, rather than a relative date based on when they acquired the credit. We send patrons regular emails - especially towards the end of the season - telling them exactly how much they have and what they can use it towards (i.e. remaining shows of the season, or a subscription package for the upcoming season), and we encourage them to use the credit on TNEW and over the phone by waiving service charges.
