Buying a BOCA printer

Hello Tessitura Ticketing Friends -

We have a few concerts each season that happen at a location that does not have a box office/Boca printer and we are looking to buy one that will connect with my laptop so that I will be able to print tickets on the day of the concert for walk up sales. Since it doesn't happen that often, we are looking for a low-cost option. Does anyone know of a place that sells refurbished BOCA printers or have ideas on how to find a low price option?

  • Check out the Lemur-X, if you haven't already. It's a small footprint, economical version of the full-size Lemur and is significantly (40+%) less expensive than a base Lemur with a cutter. We bought one for use at a desk that sees low-volume ticket sales and it's done pretty well so far. Two biggest drawbacks are print speed (maybe 50% slower per ticket) and lack of a hopper, but both aren't really an issue in a low-volume setting.

The Boca onesheet mentions that the Lemur-X uses a different black mark location, but we're using our stock tickets with no modifications.
