I have been tasked with setting up an Auto Renew process for our subscribers. The goal is to automate renewals so that when renewal time comes around, we just hit a button and charge our subscribers for the next season. They would have to OPT OUT for this not to happen.
First of all, is this possible in Tessitura?
Has anyone successfully performed this before?
I would love to hear from everyone/anyone who has any knowledge on this.
Broadway Across America does do this, although they do use TicketMaster and have millions of dollars to make it happen.
We just did auto renewal for our Broadway series this year. BAA is our producing partner.
Codashti is correct. The only way to accomplish this is to use payment schedules, otherwise you would go into each order to plug in an order date, source code and charge the payment. Our amazing IT associate director David Frederick plugged in all of those information for us (order date, source code and payment schedule according to the payment plan from the previous season) and all I needed to do was run a ticket order billing on the day of. We did a lot of email notices prior (emails to patrons with expired cards, and an email to remind subs that they are going to be charged by a certain date to prompt them to call us prior to update payment info or opt out). Would be happy to go over the process, but the actual Tessitura actions will need to come from David and I'm happy to facilitate the sharing of info.
