I have been tasked with setting up an Auto Renew process for our subscribers. The goal is to automate renewals so that when renewal time comes around, we just hit a button and charge our subscribers for the next season. They would have to OPT OUT for this not to happen.
First of all, is this possible in Tessitura?
Has anyone successfully performed this before?
I would love to hear from everyone/anyone who has any knowledge on this.
Broadway Across America does do this, although they do use TicketMaster and have millions of dollars to make it happen.
If there is a "just hit a button" solution, I'd love to know it too. We have an opt-in autorenewal process, but the only "automatic" part is that we assume permission to charge their credit card. Ours uses an attribute to opt in, which I then use to pull a list to determine who should be renewed. We send a courtesy notice in case the CC info we have is out of date, or they have changed their mind and don't want to renew, but then I just go through each account and process their renewal. You could set up a payment schedule for each of your subscribers after you've done your rollover, and then use that to process the payments at another date, but I don't know of any out of the box utility that will allow you to do a batch of automatic payments without touching every record first.
