I am fairly new to using pricing rules and wondering if its possible to using pricing rules with packages? Has anyone done it? Very interested to know!
Scenario: 3 different discounting levels pending how many plays you pick in a package:
So rather than have 3 seperate packages all with their own seperate pricetypes is it possible to have one dynamic package "to rule them all" where once you add a 6th play to your package all the tickets within that package get 10% off.
Hi Bonnie,
In v15, it's not possible to apply a pricing rule based on the performances selected in a package. However in v16 there is a new checkbox in the pricing rule criteria, Apply to Performances in a Package, which would allow you to create the type of discounts you are interested in. The setup would be pretty much the same as the Product Volume rules Fernando described. So at that point the decision on whether to use a package or not with the discount would be based on whether you wanted the flex package structure to help guide/restrict the performances the constituents purchase and/or you wanted to categorize these purchase as packages or if you just want to offer volume based discount (in which case just selling single ticket performances with the product volume rule would work). Here's a link to the v16 Product Volume help topic in case it is helpful: https://www.tessituranetwork.com/Help_System_v160/TN-Application/Pricing-Rules/Product-Volume-Rule.htm
Hi Kevin, can different performances have different pricing rules applied within a package in v16? So for a museum we may have admission, a tour and an exhibition. We currently use pricing rules for family pricing & in each of those products the family tickets may require a slightly different discount to be correct so each product within the package would need a different pricing rule - is this possible?
thanks!
Yes, that should be possible. When the new setting is used it's pretty much saying don't worry that a performance is part of a package, treat it just like a performance that is not part of a package.
