I was wondering what is the most efficient way to book a large number of seats held by a code. Currently we are going to the seat map and clicking on the seat and breaking the hold to book the seat. Sometimes Tessitura will give us an entire row or will stop at a different hold code. Other times Tessitura will select a seat nowhere near where we clicked. Thanks.
The easiest thing is to lasso the seats you want by clicking and dragging around the seats in the map. When you let go of the mouse button the menu will pop-up; select Advanced Reservation. The Select Statuses to Reserve window will pop-up; click all the hold types you want to break, if you also want the available seats to be selected click on the Available option. If you have entered a number of seats on the line item tab that number of seats will be reserved using the best seat algorithm within the lassoed seats. If you have not entered the number of seats in the line item tab then all seats which apply to your selection will be reserved. To release the seats en masse lasso and select the release locked on the menu.
If you have seats reserving in an odd order 4 together and 1 across the house when you are reserving with a single click, I would recommend reviewing your contiguity setup for the venue. Contiguity helps define for the system which seats are together.
