Hello,
I have the maximum quantity set to 10 tickets for our Timed Admissions on TNEW, but we've had people simply going back and adding the same performance multiple times to get around it. Today we have a group of 32 who went back and added the same perf 4 times to the cart to get around it. We really need groups this size to contact our visitor services manager so we can be prepared for them. Has anyone found a way to limit per perf or order and not just per line item? I know v16 can do this for member tickets, but I'm wondering what the point the max quantity is if you can just keep going back and adding the same perf over and over to get around it.

We also see this happen as we are not currently doing Adult group tickets for admissions (just K-12 and our University Members can currently book as a group). So we see that same behavior of ticket buyers who just loop back around and add another 9 seats to their order. For some events, I have tried putting a sort of offer cap on the Price Type(s) where I use All Appeals and All Sources so that it doesn't matter if they have linked via a promoted source to the TNEW page, it will scoop all orders. It usually will stop the looping back around in the same order, but it doesn't stop them from creating multiple orders (more of a slow-down). But it is also tricky as we don't have language in conjunction with that sort of offer usage that tells the user why we are stopping them from getting a bucket of tickets at a go, or that we could potentially cancel/refund if they proceed with making a bunch of orders. We haven't tried doing something with a dynamic list that is generated off of existing orders that have a specific event already that would be tied to a pricing rule/offer combo, but I have heard of other orgs doing this in particular to catch 3rd party resellers who are gobbling up ticket availability for certain events. My fear is that having some sort of dynamic list generation running constantly on any number of events would crash our system, so that has been a key reason we haven't explored that direction. Since V16 can do this sort of thing for member tickets, I wondered if there might be a way to leverage a sort of generic membership of general customer where we could utilize some of those new features, but there are definite drawbacks to doing that as well.
I like the idea of using an Offer to at least keep them from doing it in a single order. Maybe they will notice the copy that says there is a limit of 10 and to contact VS for larger groups. Thanks!
