I'm trying to set up a package for a three-day event we have coming up. You can register for each day individually, but if you register for all three you get a discount. I can get this to work with a pricing rule booking the individual performances, but it isn't working within the package I have set up. Is it possible to have this kind of pricing rule apply to perfs within a package? I'm using a Product Volume Rule and I have the three perfs selected. There are also two option events, which is why I'm looking at using a package (but there's no discount on those).

Hi Anne,
Unfortunately, I don't think this is possible in V.15 but is something added in V.16 (https://www.tessituranetwork.com/Help_System_v160/TN-Application/v16/Miscellaneous.htm). Best,

I might not be understanding the specifics, but would the package qualify for the discount? So the package price would be offered just at the discounted price and then you could add the other two performances at full price as sub add ons? Or if the package has all 5 performances, but only 3 of the 5 should be discounted, set the price for the package price type in the 3 performances at the discounted rate and at the "regular" rate for the other two performances on the same price type.
To complicate matters, members get to register a week early, so I really need a price type change or what you suggest would be perfect. I think we may have to forgo the package idea to get everything to work. I had planned on being live with V16 by now and had everything figured out with add-on events, but defects have prevented us from going live.
Ahhh yeah... You could also maybe explore price type change on the package with a second sub price type with varying pricing in the respective performances? Something in my brain is also saying Offers, but we have a custom site so my thinking might not work for TNEW or your own custom site??I hear you about v.16... I haven't tested this in our BETA environment yet... might play with that on Monday :)
That's what I've been trying to do -- I have a second price type for the discounted rate and I've applied it to all of the perfs, but I don't want it visible on the package selection page and I think that is the problem. Packages need all the price types on the package that are on the perfs.
Ah! Maybe try removing the web user group from the price type change/discounted price type (if possible) - I think it'll still fire as a part of the pricing rule but won't appear in the path. At least it does on our custom site.
