Ticket printers other than BOCA's?

Does anyone use or suggest a ticket printer brand other than BOCA?

    We have used both PA and Datamax printers with Tess but I'd advise against doing this.  With the network pricing there isn't any good reason I can find not to use Boca's.

    The other brands both emulate, to some level, the proprietary Boca language so in theory there shouldn't be an issue.  However, our PA's are older and can't be adjusted so we would have had to design the ticket formats for them and then try to adjust the Boca's to match.  Initially we had a majority of Datamax devices which were lots cheaper at the time as well as smaller and quieter than Boca's with no format issues.  Over time these became less reliable and can't be counted on to stack tickets in the order they print.  It is hard to believe but the Datamax support people told me that stacking in the order printed is not part of the design or a supported feature.  The final straw was that the Datamax bar codes rarely read on our nscan scanners, we are replacing our last Datamax this season.  If your interested in some high milage off brand ticket printers let me know.
