Hi everyone,
At my organization, we currently have our TNEW default source set up to match all web sales to one source. As I understand it, our box office has always set that source to "Online Subscription" because they want it to match the source number from the annual subscription rollover. They fear it would break any renewing subscription order if that default source was set to something more general like "Web Sales." But it's driving me crazy in my reporting because all of our subscription and single ticket orders are showing up as "Online Subscription" when I break it out by Appeal and Source.
Does anyone know if it is true that your web default source should be your subscription rollover source? Do your organizations use multiple default sources, or just one, and does anyone have tips on what best practice in this area would look like?
Thanks for your help!
Hello,
Your web default source does NOT have to be your subscription rollover source. Not even a little bit. Our website default source is ID 2, "Online Web Transaction - No Box Office". We have a consortium environment with subscriptions of our own and 6 resident companies and do RollOvers with a brand new source number for each roll over every season. Then there is the option for a checkout survey to update the order source if you want that as well. There is certainly a fair bit of flexibility there.

I second John. You can totally have a separate default source than your rollover source.
Thank you, John and Greg! I suspected that was the case but appreciate the validation from multiple other organizations! I'll be updating that today – phew.
