Unable to edit a faciliity screen

Tessiturians, Hello!

My colleague edited a small general admission house by adding seats.  She did not understand that all seats needed to be defined and that contiguity had to be applied, and finally validated for completeness.  She then built a Title, Production, Production Season and several Performances.  Then she realized that this left the additional seats unspecified and this would be a problem, perhaps most critically for Best Available web sales.  We have since deleted all price types from all these performances, thinking that we will at this point change the facility used in the general tab to that of a correctly edited facility.

So at this point, I seem to be unable to edit ANY facility screens with map painter. I want to add more seats to the   venue previously used.  I CAN add seats to the screen, but then the options for Define Seat Numbers and Define Contiguity are greyed out on any of the tabs, so I can't finish defining the facility.  Of course Validate Completeness is a failure.

I understand that I am not able to impact performances which are already built without using the 3 or 4 utilities that would update charts that are already in use. 

I've also used the Copy a Facility report/utility in the Ticketing Processing folder, thinking that a newly named facility would not be locked up with respect to Define Seat Numbers and Define Contiguity, but still no luck.

Any ideas?
