Hello Everyone!
I have a question for anyone who has this process, that guests can apply todays ticket to a membership. Basically we apply the money from the ticket sale to the Membership and then they pay the difference. HOWEVER, I realized that to do this we have to return the tickets, which then deletes the attendance record skewing our attendance data. Does any other institution have this sort of benefit and if so, how to do apply this?
Thanks!
Not sure if this translates exactly for a museum admission, but at my previous organization we did something similar for single ticket buyers converting to subscriptions - we'd return the original ticket, sell them a package that included that seat at the adjusted sub price, and then use the Record Attendance feature under Season Manager to record the reissued ticket as attended.
We had the same initiative for many of our visual art installations and processed this the exact same way. The only addition I would add is, that once we returned the tickets to apply the value to the contribution, we would create a new order and issue the tickets as comps (that is a membership benefit) and then re-recorded their attendance in the season maintain module.
This is super helpful! Thank you so much Joe!
Thank you Erin! I think this would work even without packages. Appreciate the insight!
