We are opening a new venue in January and we are about to place our order for ticket printers as well as ticket stock. We are going with a larger stock (3.25 by 6.5) and I'm hoping to clarify - do we need to order boca printers with 300 dpi to handle the stock size? I've received some conflicting info on this, so I'm hoping to get clued in for sure before we order.
Related question - any issues any of you have found with using larger than standard stock or 300 dpi printers? Pros or cons?Problems we should be aware of now?
Thanks much! Had a great time at the conference. Nice meeting so many folks.

Hi Brian,
You don’t need a 300 DPI printer to use larger ticket stock. Essentially, 300 DPI printer will use less space to print characters than a 200 DPI printer. The size of your printing does not increase with a larger ticket, just the amount of space on which you can print. If you use 300 DPI with a larger ticket you’ll be able to use a little more of the space, but the text might actually look a little smaller.
Whatever DPI you use, you will need to adjust the default rows and columns for your ticket designs based on the size of your ticket stock. For details see the Printer Types section of the Ticket Design document.
Using 300 DPI printers with Tessitura is fine, but we do not recommend mixing 200 and 300 DPI printers. You’ll need different ticket designs for the different DPIs, and you can’t choose a design based on the printer you’ll be using when you print from ticket orders. 300 DPI designs are larger (more rows and columns for the same size ticket), so if you printed a 300 DPI design on a 200 DPI printer, text near the edges of the ticket would probably get cut off.
