Film Festival Ticketing + Discounts

Hi Hive Mind!

I am building a film festival that will run Wed-Saturday with workshops, discussion panels and screenings with the final Gala Celebration screening night.

I have built these all as separate performances as the pricing changes for each one.

All GA in the same theatre space.

We want to provide a 20% discount for purchasing all workshops, 20% discount for all workshops and panel, 20% discount for purchasing all screenings and 25% discount for purchasing all events (full festival access).

My question is - what would be the most user friendly way of ticketing this?

I was going to set up a pricing rule to trigger the discount, but think it will be a bit clunky for the patron to have to select 13 different events on the website before the 25% discount triggers. I am also worried about patrons having to do this for 2 or more people and having 13, 26, 39 etc pdfs to receive.

Any suggestions of how to set this up (without creating a package) that would be a more user friendly experience?

Thanks!

  • From my own wrassling around with this, here are the options I found:

    - Tessitura's Add-On Plug-In, that you could us in conjunction with pricing rules: https://www.tessituranetwork.com/en/Services/Software-and-Web-Consulting/Components#addons It does have limitations, but I can't remember exactly what they are. BUT, I just found from reading this that it will become standard functionality as part of V16 - hurrah!

    - Flex package, and discount with a pricing rule (but, I didn't figure out how to solve the problem of TNEW displaying the original price in the ticket selection - since price changes are show in the Pre-Cart and Cart).

    - The pricing rules (as you mentioned), with a pricing rule Message in the cart with links to take you back to the additional perfs and products.

    - Other than the above, the only other really "friendly on both sides" way to achieve it is with a custom website and pricing rules (https://www.countrymusichalloffame.org/ is a pretty good example of a custom site with easy add-on options).

Interested to hear any other answers folks may have!
