Pricing Rules + Promo Codes

I am attempting to build a BOGO offer (Buy one to Christmas Carol, get one for any mainstage show for 50%) that can only be accessed by a promo code. I can manage these aspects by themselves, but I am stumped on how to put it all together. I'm specifically stumped on how to set up the pricing rule to involve two shows. Can someone help?

  • Hi James,

I believe this is an Add On pricing rule type instead of BOGO if you're looking at the help documentation (more here: https://www.tessituranetwork.com/Help_System_v151h/Tessitura.htm#Pricing%20Rules/Add%20On%20Rule.htm).

Here are the notes I have for myself on this type of pricing rule set-up:

    Action
    Mode: Price Type Change
New Price Type: Price Type for Discount used in Performance B [James, you could also set this up as a price change depending on your org's set up]

    Criteria
Select the applicable performances, zones, number of tickets, and price types for Performance A
    Apply the rule
Select the applicable performances, zones, number of tickets, and price types for Performance B. Note, for the price type here, select the base price type the patron has to add to the cart before the rule is applied. In most cases, this will probably be your T Regular price type, but there is room for creativity here.

*Note that the patron will need to apply both items to their cart before the rule will fire*

We have a custom website (not TNEW) so this might not be helpful, but I've gotten pricing rules to fire with promo codes by creating an offer on the MOS connected to the pricing rule set with the same source and appeal in the pricing rule.

Happy to chat more if you have questions.

    Best,

    Katina White

  • This is the secret sauce! I didn't think of the "Add On" pricing rule in that way. Thank you.
