We and another member of our consortium are presenting related, complementary productions this fall and are considering trying to offer a cross-organization package of our two related shows - is this possible? As a Flex package? maybe as a Super-flex package? Has anyone done something like this successfully? I've done a lot of package building in the past, but not at a consortium org.
It has been a LONG time since I tried it, but I believe there is a way to do cross-season packages in Tessitura. I think there is some trick in the performance group set-up that allows it, and then you just sell it like a normal package. Just in case you wanted to try and avoid vouchers/dummy performances.
I would LOVE to do it without vouchers/dummy perfs, but I'm not seeing any intuitive way to do cross-season perf groups...the Help documentation on Performance Groups says the following:
"Select the season to which the performance group will belong from the Season dropdown.
Note: A performance group must be in the same season as a package in order to be added to the package, however the performance group and package do not need to be in the same season as the performances."
Same page also has this instruction further down:
"When a facility and zone map are chosen, the Available Performance List section populates with all performances in the selected facility for the selected season that use the selected zone map. Performances not in the selected season can be added to the list by checking Filter By Business Unit Only; when checked, all performances in seasons belonging to the same business unit as the selected season will be displayed.
Note: Business units for season are defined through the season type for a season. Most organizations use only one business unit, so checking the Filter By Business Unit Only box will bring up all performances for most organizations."
When I check the 'Filter By Business Unit Only' box in Performance Groups, I can see all performances from my unit's history, not just the ones for the current season, but I still can't see any belonging to the other consortium member - so maybe the cross-season package option still has to be within the same organization, not cross-consortium?
Filtering by Business Unit IS what you need to do. If you still cannot see the other one you may be running into control group issues. Whoever builds this package would need to have access to both performances in general. If you DO, then it might have to do with the Zone Map. I believe that they both have to use the same Zone Map. Even without that, I think it IS still possible if you use multiple performance groups. But again, it has been a while since I have played around in packages.
Awesome, now I feel like I'm getting somewhere...they do not have the same Zone Map, but it would be a Flex package anyways (even within our org, we have multiple spaces so our packages are Flex). However, even logged in as SysAdmin, I'm still only seeing my unit's performances, so I think I must be missing something higher up in Security with the control groups. I'll keep digging, thanks John!
