Expiring Allocations?

Hi All,

Looking for some ideas please!

We have a timed admission exhibition coming up & the powers that be would like to have a certain portion of tickets, for each time slot, held for members only to access online & onsite until about 5 mins prior the exhibition time slot starting & then have those tickets released for any walk ups regardless of being a member or not.

The tickets need to be held for members only until the 5 mins prior zone time starts.

I've thought of a few ways to do this but all seem to require manual updates & quite frankly that's just too many sessions a day to update manually!

How would you all approach this?

Thanks!

  • Here's a thought using MOS and Price Types.

You could have them in 2 zones Members and General Public

Members MOS price types are in both GP and Members zone and active always.

GP MOS Price types just active in the GP zone until ...
...5 mins prior you could start GP MOS price types in the Members zone that would open them up to everyone.
NB you'd have to have 2 lots of GP price types to achieve that, one set in each zone

  • Thanks Heath - always a solution that I haven't thought of so your thoughts are much appreciated! In the end we decided to create a 'duplicate' members allocation (that technically puts us over the agreed capacity) that is just for walk ups. It gives us the most flexibility without any manual changes to allocations or hold codes for each time zone. Yay!
