Using Plans (but not for fundraising)

HI All!

I am starting to really integrate a LOT of departments here at the museum in to using Tess. They really want to harness the CRM portion of Tessitura. And why the heck not. We already pay for it, why not make it do all the fun stuff.

So a lot will be revolved around recording of correspondence. I am torn between CSI's and Plans. I am leaning towards plans as the functionality will be enhancing in V16 slightly.

Just wondering if anyone else is using Plans in a non-fundraising way, and would like to share their experience?

In the past, I've used plans for group sales in addition to fundraising.  I generally think of CSIs as quick and dirty/one and done kinds of things - customer comments/complaints, lost and found, brochure request.  Simple action and then can close it off/forget about it.  Plans I think of in terms of documenting longer term communications, especially if there's a goal at the end, or multiple steps that need to be tracked.
