Pricing events and a weekly $5 price increase?

Hello all.  On Fridays, I bump the weekend performance pricing on our full price type by $5.  For the Friday performance, I don't use a pricing event as I want it to change right away.  For the Saturday and Sunday performances, I set a pricing event for midnight the day of the performance.  The pricing event works just fine for this.  Is there a way to schedule the pricing amounts to automatically increase by a set amount ($5) or percentage?  To automate the process even more rather than having to type in the dollar amounts.

Thanks,

Heather

  • Heather,

I created a VERY custom system for our organization that can do that based on the ticket count (e.g. once 50 tickets are sold in this price zone at this price type, raise ticket prices by $10), but I did not set it up to enact based on a set time.  It seems like our system could be updated slightly to allow that as well.

That said, this is a highly custom SQL thing and would definitely require someone on your end to do a fair bit of work to get it up and working, and I am not entirely certain it would save you that much time and effort in the end if it is just a matter of not having to calculate the amount.  We sought our solution because we wanted to be able to dynamically control based on the number of tickets issued rather than forcing someone to actively run reports and monitor things.

Anyway, happy to share, though I recently updated the system a few months ago, and I do not have it packaged and ready to send; it might take a week or so.
