Hi there,
We're about to reschedule a production season from 2021 to 2022. The rescheduling utility in Ticketing Setup looks like a breeze, but I wasn't able to find anything on how packages would behave once a performance has been rescheduled.
I'm hoping the seats will transfer over to the new perf automatically, but how would this affect the other performances in the patron's order? Will the package be 'broken' in any way? Assuming the package would still be treated as '2021' as the new perf dates would still be within the 2021 package perf group?.
Would appreciate any pointers/wisdom/cautionary tales from someone who's done this before
Ta,
Milly
Hi Milly,
We too are postponing a few production seasons to 2022.
Instead of using the reschedule utility, what we are doing is:
- we have told all ticket holders to retain their tickets (note that we are currently only issuing PAH tickets)
- once we have the new performance dates confirmed, we will change the date of each individual performance in the performance build. This will adjust the performance date but leave all prices, GL codes and issued tickets as they currently are.
- we will then re-issue all PAH tickets so they reflect the new performance date.
By doing this I believe it won't affect their 2021 packages as all we've done is changed the performance date. I am testing this right now to see if this is actually the case.
Our new challenge is that we want to include these postponed performances in a 2022 CYO package along with new 2022 productions. What I am thinking is the best way to achieve this is by changing the associated Season at Production Season level and then adding the 2021 perfs to the 2022 perf groups so they can be included in a 2022 CYO along with the new productions. I have built this in TEST and currently testing if this solution will work for us.
Not sure if any of this will help you with your postponements, but am happy to keep the conversation going and bounce ideas with you if you like. My email address is emmaf@australianballet.com.au.

Hey Em,
Thanks for this! All good stuff to ponder! And really not that much more time-intensive than rescheduling for an average prod season. I'll let you know how we go.
All the best,
