Our venue manager wants to go cashless at food and beverage. He wants our box office to sell prepaid debit cards to patrons who only have cash so that they can then take to food and beverage to use. Does anyone else do this now? What work / equipment / staffing/ banking / anything else should be planned for to set this up? Has anyone thought about or been successful in implementing a sales program of debit cards or gift cards or vouchers to be used in such a way? Any suggestions welcome!
Very interesting. Our local Live Nation/Ticketmaster venue -- Ascend Ampitheater (Nashville, TN) -- is making / has made this modification too. The debit cards are sold at guest services locations (not at the Box Office) and the money is loaded on a Visa gift card so any leftover funds are easily accessible once you leave the premises. I would love to see follow up from the Tessitura community here to see if others are doing that with our applications. These GCs seems to be a standard practice Live Nation is implementing nationally.
