How do others using TNEW streamline the process of someone wanting to become a member to buy tickets during a members-only presale? We're excited that v16 will address this, but we have sales starting this summer and we'd like some way to avoid having the customer complete a membership transaction before they can buy tickets with v15 and TNEW.
With our old customized website, someone could do that. My understanding with TNEW is that the update to the rank (which determines the MOS) only happens when an order is complete. The rank doesn't update with just a membership in the cart. You'd have to check out first before you can then go back to buy tickets that are only available to the member MOS.
What do others do? Anyone use a promo code to do the MOS shift and somehow use messaging or pricing rules to encourage/require a membership purchase in the same order if they are not a member?

Hi Odele,
While the rank doesn't update until the transaction completes, having a membership in the cart can create a "virtual" constituency that can be used to trigger a price rule. We have constituencies set up for each of our membership orgs/levels and use that constituency to trigger a price type change rule on qualified perfs. Here's more info in the Help system: https://www.tessituranetwork.com/TN_Express_Web_User_Guide/Content/Topics/Pricing_and_Messaging.htm (it's the 7th item in the recipe book at the bottom).
Hi Justin,
Thanks for this. It looks like that only applies to discounts, though, not for tickets that are only available to members. You can become a member and the price type changes for the ticket already in your cart. What about an event that is on sale only for members? Seems like the only way currently to set up member presale is using a member MOS or promo code. I'm hoping someone has found a creative solution to making that work when someone adds a membership to cart without requiring them to check out first and then come back to buy the ticket. Or at least ideas on how to communicate the process and make it as user-friendly as possible.
