Hello Tessitura Community
We are hearing lots about contactless box office ticketing. How are organizations that have implemented such a system accomplishing this? We have had a client reach out and ask for their event to be ticketed with mobile only and they want their tickets to be delivered 72 hours before the event. A bit of background - we are on TNEW and made the decision during implementation to not use ‘My Account’ mobile ticket delivery and opted to email the mobile tickets instead.
So – to try and accomplish this request we have figured out that we can turn off printing on the MOS for the said event and sell with only the mobile ticket delivery option online. We figured we can allow our box office to sell PAH and will call. Then 3 days before the event we can turn printing back on allowing the print service to pick up PAH and the box office could do the batch print (which our box office manager does not love as we have two physical locations where patrons can pick up tickets). We could then go into TNEW and turn on the Mobile Tickets for the performance – allowing them to show up in My Account. The place where we get stumped is once we have turned on the printing – how can the box office continue to sell tickets? From our testing the My Account mobile tickets just picks up ALL tickets for the event, regardless of MOS or print status! We also talked about making the box office sell only mobile tickets but we have a subset of our customer base who does not have a login to our website – so what are we to do with them?
Perhaps we need to really overhaul our thinking on this and that is why we are reaching out to the Tessitura community to see how you are adapting to contactless ticketing.
We really look forward to hearing back for you!
