Raffle Tickets

We have a divison that is having an event and would like to sell and track raffle tickets.  I was wondering how others handle raffle tickets at their organizations. I don’t feel like it should go on contributions since it isn’t charitable, however, setting up a performance would be rather time consuming.  Any ideas or tips would be appreciated.

Thanks,

  • We have sold raffle tickets several times and have always sold them through a ticketed performance.  Our raffle ticket design includes all the information required by the raffle license.  We use the ticket number as the raffle number because it is unique per each ticket printed.   This makes it a very easy process for collecting money and the contact information from the buyers.

We have also printed out raffle tickets to sell the night of the event.  A label is placed on the back raffle ticket to collect the buyers contact information.    After the event the raffle tickets sold are turned over to Ticket Office and updated in Tessitura with the buyers information.
