Speeding Up General Public/Walkup Sales

We're getting ready to go live with our Tessitura install, and I'm attempting to make one mode of sale the fastest, most efficient for general public and walk up sales.  We would use this for all events during the pre-event walk up, but primarily for shows in our cinema, where patrons typically show up no earlier than 15 minutes prior to the start time, and we have to be as fast as possible at the window.

I've created a MOS called "Door Sales" for just this purpose, but I'm stuck on one point: it still requires entering a source code.  For this particular type of sale, however, we are not interesting in collecting such data.  Does anyone know how to prevent this from being a required entry for the order?

Also, any other tips on speeding up walkup/door sales.

Thanks,

Aaron

  • Hi Aaron,

Source is always required.  However you do have the option (per mode of sale) to make it 'sticky' so cashiers only have to enter it for the first transaction.  It will then stay until the leave the Ticket Sales screen.

We're pros here at speedy walk-up sales so if you have any more questions on the subject don't hesitate to ask!

  • Hi Aaron

If you make sure "Clear Source" isn't ticked in the MOS tab in Campaigns > References for your Door Sales MOS then the operator will only have to enter the source number once, after this it will stay there.

  • Hi, Aaron -

It's possible within Campaigns > References > Mode of Sale to leave the "Clear Source" box unchecked. Whilst you'll still need a source number in there for the first transaction (I'd suggest a dummy source code - something like "Door Sales"), Tess won't automatically clear it for all subsequent transactions in that MOS.

It seems to work well for us! Good luck.
