Gifting Tickets to Other Non-Profits for Fundraisers

Hi all,

I've done a bit of research in the forums on how other organizations handle donation requests for fundraisers and auctions and the consensus seems to be using ticket vouchers that are printed on ticket stock. In our legacy system, we had a template that allowed us to print out certificates from our office printer (rather than on ticket stock) that were valid only for the specific performance listed but worked in a similar way as vouchers. We created a certificate donation order and were able to input the performance specific information in fields in the order. Does anyone know if Tessitura has a functionality like that? Or is anyone able to give some insight on how their organization uses vouchers for the purpose of donating them?

Any suggestions are welcome!!

Thank you,
Mimi

  • Hi Mimi,  we use vouchers generated from Tessitura for our ticket donations to other non-profits.  We have created a general admission event and we pull tickets into an account for the event organizer.  We have a unique price type that is associated with our vouchers for the redemption on the available shows.  (We limit by section and by performance day but most of our donations are for one of our 5 season shows.)  We have a ticket design that includes the rules (some in very small print) and we mail the vouchers with two letters -- one for the organization and one for the patron who gets the vouchers after the event.  The patron with the vouchers can then call the Box Office and exchange the vouchers for tickets to the play of their choice, just like a standard ticket exchange.  We have also done a very similar process with vouchers for a single show, and have created a ticket design for the individual show vouchers as well. We just use Ticket Text on the Performance setup for the title and expiration date, and date/time for the show date of the single show vouchers.  I'd be happy to talk through this more if that would be helpful.
