Deleting performances that have been used in packages

I wonder if you guys can help me - yes; I'm in a pickle once again.

I've had to set up dummy performances (long story, but the short version is that Management wanted sales to be taken before all of the details about the new Facility were known). Happily, however, we got those details before we went on sale (the onsale date got pushed back) - but after the dummy performances were set up.

In the interests of cleanliness, I'd rather these performances were deleted without trace: obviously, no bookings have been taken, so now's the time to do it. However, when I go to delete the performances in Production Elements, I get the following message: "This performance cannot be deleted because it has been used in performance groups."

Now - this is true. But no bookings have been taken, the affected performance group has been deleted and removed from the package of which it was a part. I'd really, really like these dummy performances deleted.

Is this possible?

  • Thanks, Lucie! Still no joy, though...

Is that because I deleted the performance group first? I did that before I posted this thread. I've now deleted the entire package and all related performance groups, but I'm still getting the same error message.

It's really useful to know you've been in the same situation, by the way!

    Been there, done that!

Delete from the top down—packages, then performance groups, then performances. You might have to remove price types from the packages and price maps/price types from the performances as well before you can delete them.

  • You could fix this from the backend, although you may want to open a support ticket before doing so. This is just a guess, but if the perf group is gone but it's still saying the perfs are in a perf group, there may be some leftover rows in tx_perf_group referencing the now-deleted perf groups tying them to the undesired perfs. Or maybe tx_fspkg_perf (if the packages were fixed seat).
