Instant Encore use and Mobile Tickets

Hello friends,

I was wondering if any of you are using the Instant Encore app to handle mobile tickets. I would love to hear your pros and cons regarding the use of the app for the mobile tickets.

  • Good Afternoon Christopher,

We have been using Instant Encore for the past 3 years or so and it works pretty well for us.

    PROS:

    • Easy to use, for us and end user
      • No more losing tickets
      • Less mail costs
      • Less ticket stock to be ordered
      • Lessens instances of fraud
        • We deliver tickets 12 hours prior to show
        • 2 hours prior for higher fraud targeted shows like Hamilton
      • Ticket forwarding
    • Can send anyone who has opted in, show notifications
    • They are really responsive to enhancement requests and often are able to make changes right away

    CONS:

    • Currently the ticket forwarding option is a global on/off, but they are working on making it per production season.
    • They don't have the roving barcode option, which would really lessen the fraud component
    • Forwarded tickets
      • Nothing changes on the original order, no indication they were forwarded
        • So they can forward as many times as they want on the app

That is what I can think of off the top of my head.

Happy to answer any further questions you might have.

    Best,

    Kimberly

  • To add to Kim's comment on enhancement requests we have just finished a project with them to add more info to the tickets. Previously we required hard tickets for VIP as our in house tickets show pricetypes. The app tix weren't great for nuanced tickets like VIP. It's now included on our tickets along with the order number which is also extremely helpful if issues come up night of show.  Here's our last update -- still may finesse some, but it's a great advancement for our team.
