Hi all,
We have started to issue zero value tickets for Under 5s, but would like to prevent the online purchase of them if the order does not also contain a ticket of value. I'd be interested to know if/how anyone else has successfully achieved this in a relatively simple fashion...
Many thanks!
Naomi
Hello Naomi,
I would suggest using a pricing rule, that requires a ticket with a value to be in the order to gain access to the Under 5s ticket price.

Naomi,
It depends upon your definition of "relatively simple fashion", but we have done this.
See this sample page for a performance currently active on our website: https://secure.thecenterpresents.org/9354/9365 This is one of our PB&J pages, and the ticket rules we have for these is that you are allowed to reserve up to 2 free adult tickets for every child ticket purchased.
But essentially how it works is this; this is for all of our PB&J performances, and I wrote a (VERY simple) custom procedure which simply returns all the performance numbers for active PB&J performances. Then, there is some Javascript on the page which controls the number of adult tickets available based upon the number of child tickets selected.
Let me know if you want any more information on this.
John
Hi Brittany,
Thanks so much for your reply. I have been looking at the pricing rules, but can't get my head around which pricing rule would only allow an Under 5 ticket if a ticket of value is present in the basket. I can only work out how to reduce a price to zero. I shall continue to test!
Thanks again!
Thank you John, this certainly looks like the sort of thing we are trying to achieve!
I shall put it forward as an option, and may come back to you for more detail if it looks like we might want to use this approach.
Thanks again,
