Our VP has required that we have three different ticket stock designs for next season - one for the Utah Symphony, one for the Utah Opera, and one for the Deer Valley Music Festival. Obviously, we can load the ticket stock into three different printers and choose which printer we want for each order, but that isn't practical since we sell tickets for any combination of these performance series in the same orders regularly (especially with our Design-A-Series subscription packages). Does anyone know of a solution with Tessitura that will choose which printer to print a ticket to based on a performance? Right now, the only way I can see this being done is by changing the printer for every order, and for orders with performances in multiple series individually going through the order and selecting performances one at a time and printing them to different printers. Anyone have experience with this and know of a better solution?
I don't know of a way to dictate printer by ticket type. A slightly simpler way could be to have a neutral ticket stock and just use logos for the different companies. Then you just have to use a different ticket design for each of the different options. In a lot of ways this will be much more user friendly and less prone to errors, although it will not be as flashy as you may be looking for.

well, this is off the top of my head and I can't verify if it would even work or not - maybe somebody else could flesh out the details :)
I wonder if you would be able to have a trigger run when an order prints that would run an xp_cmdshell script that would change the default printer for the PC performing the print.
good luck,
We attempted different ticket stock types a few seasons ago. We had our ticket agents manually selecting performances to print within the order to different ticket printers. This was a nightmare and we did not continue doing it for very long. There was too much room for error and we wasted a lot of stock trying to get it right.
I was also never able to get any direct cmdshell calls to work to have the system automatically switch the printer. We ended up going back to generic stock and printing logos and/or org name on the ticket.
