Hi there,
The Ogunquit Playhouse has been a single-venue organization, until now! We are considering creating up to 4 venues (on or around our property) for the 2021 season. I'd love to discuss how best to setup/handled this (as a newbie!) with those who are well-versed in running/managing multiple venues/facilities within Tessitura. Given my experiences has been with managing 1 facility/venue only, I'd love to discuss any "learn from my mistake" scenarios, as well as general 'set-up' knowledge you might have? We want to implement this as cleanly/clearly as possible in our database, so it is important we have a better understanding of what that will entail!
Looking forward to discussing soon!
Thank you,

Hi Morgan!
I think Chris has some great points, especially about packages and zones.
As for actually building out the facilities in Tessitura, I would say make sure you have a map built out that you can work off of ahead of time. I typically build them out in Excel first since it is limited by blocks in a similar way that Tess is. This way you can have your layout totally figured out, as well as zones, sections, etc. There are a lot of steps to building a venue, so the more work you can do before actually building it out, the easier it is when you actually create it in Tess.
Make sure that you validate completeness when you think you are done building each venue as well, It will let you know if there are any issues.
I'm happy to help you out a bit if needed when it comes to building.
Hi Jordan,
Thank you for this information - great advice. I went to the Tessitura "Ticketing" class 4 years ago and unfortunately, that was the first and last time I built a facility, so I'm feeling a LITTLE intimidated by it! I will hang onto this thread and ping you when the time comes - thanks so much for the offer!!
Best,
~M
I can certainly understand. I am still new on tessitura (just a bit over a year), but facility manager one of the areas that i am always careful with. That and System Tables.
