Group Sales for Virtual Events

Hi all,

Thesis / TL;DR: Is anyone else doing group sales and have you found any wonderful and amazing way to do it through gated content without it 1) being a burden on your (limited) staff and 2) being easy for the patron to navigate?

We are investigating how we might go about arranging virtual group sales for our children's show coming up. We are using gated content for most virtual events but have found a roadblock when it comes to group sales. Normally our group sales just go under either a) the coordinator's name or b) the organization name, but with gated content, we need everyone to have a login and password to access the content and we do not want to ask our coordinators/organizations to share their login information (highly insecure).

We have investigated two options: Gated content where we provide a "Group Sales" performance for the show and the patron "buys" as many tickets as they like (i say "buys" in quotes because we will have a PWYC option and they may choose to pay $0 for the performance). And then we'd set up a survey to confirm the emails of their parties so we can allow them access to this gated content.  This option allows us to collect information on all of the attendees (yay! data!) but is a lot more work for our limited staff.

The other, and more simple way, for us to do this is to have them fill out a survey requesting group tickets, we create the order for them, and then provide them a link and password to a page on the front-end of our site (rather than TNEW) to be able to access the content that way.

Without having EVERYONE's email for the group sale, it seems that the second option may be our only option. Is anyone else doing group sales and have you found any wonderful and amazing way to do it through gated content without it 1) being a burden on your (limited) staff and 2) being easy for the patron to navigate?

Thanks in advance, friends!
