Digital Gated Content Dates for On Demand

Hoping to settle an argument.  We have two different interpretations of how to set up performances when selling on demand virtual performances (the "rental" model) based on the documentation.

1. Set up one performance with a large GA facility and a date range that covers the entire period of time it will be available for purchase.  Set up TNEW configuration to allow patrons to watch for a specific period of time following order date; ignore the performance date entirely.

2. Set up a performance for each day the content will be available.  Set up TNEW configuration to allow patrons to watch for a specific period of time following the performance date they purchased.

Which is correct?  Does it matter?

Thanks,

Lindsay

  • Hi Lindsay!

Option 1 is what we at Tessitura would expect and recommend for the "rental model" use case. A single performance is much easier to configure, publish on TNEW, maintain over time, manage and sell in application-based orders, and report on.

While both options would give the customer the same experience, I think you'll find Option 1 far easier to manage for your staff.

    Hope that helps!
