Hi All,
I'm just looking for some advice if anyone has ever used pricing rules in this way at all please?
We're looking to see if we can offer via pricing rules an offer whereas you purchase one standard ticket at full price, you can get upto 2 half price children. Has anyone ever achieved this or any advice would be great thanks. I've tried looking at multiple price types but it's discounting my entire basket. Not even sure if it's achievable but any advice would be grateful!
Thanks :)
It sounds like the Add On rule might be a better fit than the Multiple Price Type rule?
Hi Ryan,
A Multiple Price Type rule is what you want, but you are right that when the rule applies it's going to apply to all the tickets. So, what you need to do is set up the Adult price type so that it can't be discounted. There are two options for that. If the action on the rule is Price Type Change, you could use Price Type Mapping so that the Adult price type get's changed to itself (i.e. map Adult to Adult) while the Child price type gets mapped to a half priced child price type. If the action on the rule is set to Price Change, set it to Respect the Minimum Price, and then make sure the minimum price on the Adult price type is the same as the default price.

Thank you both so much! Just got it working :D !
Hi Kevin,
Sorry I have another question if I may. How does the rule work in respect of pricing layers. Our pricing is currently made up of multiple layers of which I would want all 3 layers to decrease to 50% off - if I made each layer editable and the minimum price in each layer 50% would it change each layer?
Thanks,
Ryan
Hi Ryan, In your example for a Price Change rule, as long as you have Respect Minimum Price checked you will be fine. To exclude a layer in this instance you wouldn't change the minimum price in that layer. Otherwise it will change each layer 50%
