We are looking for the best possible way to record attendance for our ticket digital events and would love to hear what others might be doing. Currently we are hosting both ticket and non-ticketed on events on YouTube. To record attendance for the non-ticketed events, after the event has aired and we count the number of views we are selling that amount of tickets on a front of house account to a price type where we auto-record them as attended. Doing this for the ticketed events would create issues for a few different reasons (one of which is that these are hosted on a public page so even patrons who didn't purchase can view it) in reporting sales because it increases the tickets sold for the event by the number of views and shows all of the original tickets as unattended on the attendance report. We know we can filter these report by price type but are curious if there is a better way to do it.The options we came up with as a solution to this are below but are options we don't find ideal. We know the Gated Digital Content could be a big help with this but at this time we haven't determined how we will use The Digital Content area.
There may not be a great way around these issues but I know there are some very creative folks among us so I wanted to throw this out to you all.
Thanks!
Hi Logan,
Posting here because it's relevant to the question, even though it may not be a direct solution - in an upcoming service pack, we are going to release an API endpoint that allows you to mark a ticket as attended via the API. While this will have broad application, we are doing it now because it is particularly useful for marking people as attended for digital content, and we'll be working that in to the TNEW Gated Content feature soon as well.
Keep your eyes out for that in one of the next few service packs, and hopefully it can be of assistance to you with handling the above.
Thanks,

Hi Chris Szalaj - I am in a discussion right now about using the API to track attendance for digital events, has this been released yet? IF not, is there an ETA?
Hi Jim, the API endpoint to handle this is currently included in the December update - That is currently scheduled for the week of December 14.
Thanks
